WELCOME TO LITTLE ANGELS NURSERY
Little Angels nursery aims to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment, catering for all the needs of the children in our care. All children are treated as individuals and provision is tailored to meet their needs, in conjunction with the wishes of the parents/carers.
Learning and Development
The framework is produced by the DFES and is a legal document which we must abide by. It is designed to support children in their earliest years.
The EYFS supports children’s personal, social and emotional development which underpins the other areas of learning and key skills, including listening, speaking, concentrating, problem solving and co-operating. The EYFS ethos is to ensure all children get the best start in life. It emphasizes the importance of children’s early experiences and the impact it can have on a child’s future.
Part of the framework requires us to record and support children’s individual learning; we do this by ensuring each child has a file that is a record of their progress and development. It is also used to celebrate children’s achievements. We call this a learning journey. Your child’s Key Person is responsible for managing your child’s file. Your child’s learning journey is available for you to look through at any time, just speak to your child’s Key Person.
We will be happy to show you the framework and explain how we use it.
Routines: each room has their own routine which offers children the opportunities to choose open-ended resources. Children will have daily access to all of the following;
- sand and water play
- stories/songs and music
- creative activities
- construction play
- investigation play
- play dough
- maths and writing activities
- role play
Children have set times for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack; however, breakfast and snack are provided on continuous provision basis. If you would like to see a full copy of a routine for a specific room, let us know and we can email one to you.

- Little Angels Nursery uses the practice guidance of the EYFS to plan and provide a range of play activities which help the children to make progress in the areas of learning and development.
Observations are key to assess how young children are developing. We use the information from observations to plan the children’s next steps in the learning process.
- As your child’s first and best educator, we believe that you know your children best and we will give you the opportunity to contribute to assessment by sharing information about what your child likes to do at home. A continual and periodic summary of your child’s ongoing development and achievements will be shown from the assessments and observations.
- Each child at Little Angels Nursery will have a Key Person. They are responsible for the upkeep of their key groups ‘Learning Journeys’ forming secure relationships with their key children.
The EYFS guidance sets out development matters, the likely stages of progress a child makes along their learning journey towards the early learning goals, we have regard for these when we assess children and plan their next steps.

What We Do
Our first nursery first opened in January 2000 and was called Tiny Tots Cottage Day Nursery. In February 2011, we decided to change our group name to ‘Little Angels Nurseries’.
- We have 61 places for children, aged from 3 months to eleven years.
- There are five rooms at the nursery. All rooms have qualified nursery practitioners, and we encourage learning through play, not formal education.
- Daily activities include painting, sand and water play, construction, imaginative play, stories and songs, counting, shape sorting and outdoor play.
- We work alongside parents with the Early Years Foundation Stage, to encourage children’s independence with self-care needs.
- We are regulated by OFSTED who inspect us regularly to ensure that we are providing safe and stimulating care and education for your little angels.
There Are Four Main Principles Of EYFS
1. A Unique Child
Principle – Every child is a competent learner from birth, who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
2. Positive Relationships
Principle – Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.
3. Enabling Environments
Principle – The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.
4. Learning and Development
Principle – Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important.
